Puig de Missa

There is no better place to enjoy the panoramic view of Santa Eulalia del Río than the Puig Missa viewpoint. One of the oldest fortified churches on the island, surrounded by white houses of typical Ibizan construction creating a unique landscape.

Due to the constant harassment by pirates and corsairs in the past, the inhabitants of the coastal municipalities of Ibiza used to build their municipalities somewhat far from the coast. These fantastic constructions of fortified churches that were built to take refuge in case of attack by corsairs have come down to our days from these threats. In the case of Puig de Missa, it is one of the oldest on the island.
The architecture of the church is typically Ibizan, all in white, plain and simple.

The ascent to Puig de Misa is a beautiful excursion where along the way you can enjoy the best panoramic view of the city. At the beginning of the path we will find the Ethnographic Museum of Ibiza, set up in an old farmhouse. Once at the top, apart from enjoying exceptional views of the city, you can also take a pleasant walk through the narrow streets of white houses, visit the beautiful church and its small cemetery just behind.

The climb can be done on foot, by car or by tourist train.
