Dalt Vila, the walled heart of Ibiza town

Dalt Vila is the name (meaning “the upper town”) given to the old town of Ibiza, an essential destination on a tourist getaway to the Balearic island. It is delimited by imposing Renaissance walls, shaped like a heptagon, which have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. We are going to go inside the walls to discover the historic government centre of the island and its commercial and cultural heart. Will you join us?

The old town is located on a small hill, the Puig de Vila, and its unmistakable profile, crowned by the cathedral and the castle of Ibiza, is the most emblematic and iconic image of the island. In addition, if we wander through its narrow streets, we will discover in its design and structure the traces left by different civilisations, a mixture of cultures that has given Ibiza a cosmopolitan and open spirit.
